Hi everybody,

First of all, we’d like to apologize for the delay on our update.

We were hoping to receive the pre-production samples few weeks ago and share their pictures and videos with you. However, a small hiccup on tooling of shells delayed our update for 3 weeks.

The issue was caused by the shell, which didn’t fit perfectly with the PCBA of NexDock leaving a small gap on one side. Therefore the tooling company had to make some improvements to fix the issue.

Now, following these improvements and an unfortunate delay of 3 weeks, the shell looks much better and we can continue manufacturing.

We will receive the pre-production samples next week, perform some tests and give you another update with more images and videos then. If there are no other issues, NexDocks will go to the final manufacturing phase.  We will start the process for FCC and CE certifications subsequently.

Some good news and the status of manufacturing progress:

Raspbery Pi 4 Support

We have been testing Raspberry Pi 4 and are happy to confirm that NexDock 2 works great with it. What’s also exciting is that we were able to work a deal to include adapters for Pi 4 with your NexDocks.

To make our cables compatible with Raspberry Pi 4, you will receive a micro-USB to USB-C adapter for power, and a micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter for display as shown below:

Packaging Design

We almost finalized the design of our packaging that will contain all cables and adapters as well as a power adapter with country specific plug heads. We are going to finalize the color of the packaging after checking the pre-production samples.

As of today, we are 3 weeks behind schedule. Our team is working hard to ship all NexDocks by the 3rd week of October. As promised, we are trying to be fully transparent with you about the manufacturing process. We apologize again for this delay.

Thanks again for your support and patience.
